Frequently asked questions

Is tradeguessr free to use?
Yes. The core game — five rounds of candlestick chart prediction — is completely free and requires no account. Creating a free account lets you save your scores to the global leaderboard. The Trading Dojo (coming soon) will include five free drills per day; unlimited access requires a Pro subscription.
Where does the chart data come from?
All charts are sourced from Polygon.io, a professional-grade market data provider used by institutional traders and quantitative research firms. The data consists of real historical OHLC (open, high, low, close) candles across US equities. Tickers and dates are hidden during gameplay to prevent recall bias.
Is this financial advice?
No. tradeguessr is strictly an educational tool for developing candlestick pattern recognition skills. Nothing on this website constitutes financial advice, investment advice, or trading recommendations. Please consult a qualified financial adviser before making any investment decisions.
How is my score calculated?
Your score for each round is based on the percentage distance between your predicted close price and the actual close price. A prediction within 0.5% of the actual close earns close to 1,000 points. A prediction more than 5% away scores near zero. A perfect session (5 rounds) has a maximum score of 5,000 points.
Can I suggest a new feature?
Absolutely — use the contact form on this page. Feature requests are read and considered for the roadmap. The most-requested features are prioritised first.
I found a bug. How do I report it?
Use the contact form below with "Bug Report" as the subject. Please include a description of what you expected to happen and what actually happened. Screenshots are helpful if you can attach them via email after submitting.
